Here’s another quick grab from a work-in-progress, just because I’m loving the aesthetic I get to make for this fashion client:

Another sketch for the kids book I’m making with my sister. We’ve finally cobbled together a more tangible plot line, which should help things along.

Pictured above is a member of the goblin ‘Stealth Police’, cleaning up a clump of palpable noise pollution. Below shows Victor Applecrouch & Poppy Annopoli sneaking into a the Stealth Police’s submarine.

Cars Game (alpha)

Works In Progress, Gaming | Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

I’ve been working on a little game recently for a company (fun gig!)

Here’s an early study on movement model, interactivity & drifting dust particles:

This movie requires Flash Player 8

this map will eventually be loose gravelly terrain, hence: plenty of drift when turning

click in the flash area, so it can capture your keyboard presses, then use arrow keys to drive & space bar for handbrake turns!

[edit: game is now complete!]

Power of design / Power of propaganda

Illustrated, Works In Progress | Sunday, March 27th, 2005

I thought it might be interesting to recreate some original propaganda imagery with a new message about the nature of advertising and design as modern propaganda.

Propaganda exists today in the form of advertising and design because it is the most effective tool for influencing popular opinion. Indeed, all mass media is capable of this manipulation.

This piece is an old Lenin propaganda poster recreated with a new message:

“With mass communication comes responsibility! Remember that visual communication can always alter popular opinion, for better or for worse.”

This piece is still incomplete, as I’m not certain the translation I’ve been given is gramatically correct:

“MACCOBAя ИHФOPMAЦИя TPEБYET OTBETCTBEHHOCTИ!
ПOMHИTE ЧTO TEAE BИДEHИE MOЖET И3MEHИTЬ OБЩECTBEHHOE MHEHИE, B OДHY ИAИ ДPYГYЮ CTOPOHY”
